My sewing and knitting skills have definitely improved this semester. I learned how to handle glass better and how to remain safe. If there was anything i should have done it would of been to work more. I didn't really get much done without quitting.

I started around Christmas time, so my initial plan was to have this be a gift for my dad. I used a few different materials including glass, glue, wood, glass cleaner and cement. At first I started with drawing out a trace of what I want it to look like. Then after I began to cut all the glass and place it down with glue. After two weeks of that same process over and over I finally finished and had to clean the glass and place the cement between the cracks. I learned that sanding down the sides of glass is very important because you will get shreds of glass or cut yourself if you don't sand it down.
I first wanted to do this project because I saw on the news this organization that gave stuffed animals to kids in need of relief. I used a needle, thread, stuffing and clothe. Mid way through I had to undo all of the sowing I did because I did it the wrong way. Froths project I've learned how to sew right and when to use different technics. |
